I have had a busy week making pressies to take on my trip to Adelaide. Yes it is a working trip but after it was booked it just happened to coincide with a dear friend from army days 40th Birthday and my best friends 41st Birthday. As she didn't get anything last year I thought I had better catch up and make her something this time... and of course her daughter (my goddaughter) is Sophie, and you have already seen her gift...
So here is what I have been playing with....
I am not sure what you would call this? a mantel runner, a wallhanging ?? I am sure there is a name for them. I envisage she may hang it over her dining room double doors which is where I got the inspiration for the design - the glass etching from them. You may recognise it as similar to the Victorian Virtuoso quilt I did but this time in the colours to match Becs room. I hope she likes it, if not I shall tell her to store it until I die, maybe it will be worth more then?
Next was Carrie's 4oth...mmm left this a bit late didn't I? So I came up with this...
It was so much fun to do.... do you like it? I have stretched and stapled it over a cheap canvas so it is very light to take in my suitcase.
I couldn't stop at one and did this one also...
I have taken lots of photos of the process so I might put up a tutorial for you next week. No patterns, nothing to follow but your heart and your freedom....I could have just kept going but these were not actually on my list and my list is not getting any shorter as I prepare for Quilt Market in 4 weeks....
Now I did also finish THREE new patterns this week which I have just released to stores. You can see them here but you have heard enough from me today so I shall show them to you next week after my lovely weekend in Adelaide...Of course I shall take some pics of Jane's Gathering to show you also.
Airport, here we come...
hugs,Helen

Please!!!!!! Share with your humble & faithful fans a tutorial on how to paint/stitch the flowers??? Your work inspires me to be creative.
If only we could all be your close personal friends!!!! :-)
Your friend will love the 40th-gift, thanks for sharing it with us. In actuality, we must all be your "friend" since you shared the gift with your viewers. I eagerly await your tutorial & pattern......
Blessings

AWESOME! Did you complete the scrip message by writing with the sewing machine or hand-stitching over your hand writing?!
What a wonderful giftie.

These are simply beautiful. Your machine quilting is just too perfect. I particularly like the quilted hand writing.
