Mystery Marathon quilt in

My eldest Miss M has been accepted to go on a World Challenge trip to Namibia for 4 weeks next September. They have to undertake a physical challenge (a hiking trek) and a community aid challenge – an aid project in a Namibian community. As part of the leadup programme they have to plan, organise and fund raise for every element of the trip. So we have a BIG year ahead of us to raise approx $6000 towards the trip.

She has set up her own blog (well with my help) – it would be lovely if you could go and give her some encouragement at www.missmchallenge.blogspot.com –she will be so excited to get her first comment! We have lots of things planned together, including a quilt pattern range – she made her first quilt for it on Sunday, will show you after it gets back from the quilter.

So our first fun(d) raising venture is a 12 hour mystery marathon quilt in here in Tassie, but never fear, you can all join in across the world, wherever you may be, hopefully we’ll get lots of friends doing what they love, quilting, and helping Molly towards her goal of helping others also…I am very proud of what she wants to do, now just to get her there. This information will also be on the Mystery Marathon page link on the left of the blog.

This will be run as a step by step tutorial as in our Great Summer Holiday Mystery earlier in the year so all levels of quilters will easily follow along. Why not get an online group together in your sewing rooms and share in the fun as each installment comes through to your computers across the world; sew, online chat and share photos on your blogs.

I was reading my emails with my youngest girl (9) looking over my shoulder. "Who's Helen?" she asked, "It is nice of her to send you all those hugs". I had to agree, it is lovely to see things through their eyes.

Helen, can you put me down as a tentative booking please...I have to check flights and have a granddaughter soon to be born, so cannot commit right now...but If I come there will be 2 of us..I will let you know ASAP
