re: the torter recipe; I meant to say also that I used yellow plums and tossed some blueberries on top for color.

Sheila

I made this plum torte last year. It was very tasty and my co-workers loved it:

My grandmother used to make a delicious red plum ... preparation for lack of a better word since it is not jam, nor marmalade. You half the plums, depit them, put them on a tray with some walnuts and chopped orange peel and bake them until the mixture starts to caramelize. Put them in jars and you have the richest and yummiest topping for pancakes, or sandwiches. Bon Appétit!

Sandra

My mum always made a potato cake with a crumble on top. She always put sliced plums under the crumble top (strudel) - yum oh!

I overheard someone talking about making plum scones! Although I don't have a recipe - maybe Mr Google could help?

Jeannette

Is plum paste like a jam or more like a jelly to serve with cheeses etc.

Colourque (R) is a techique I developed and use on many of my projects. It is nothing scientific, anyone can do it, it is meant to be fun and easy to do... it is simply using coloured pencils on fabric to get an applique effect. 'Faux Applique' a comprehensive technique book on the method is due for release late November. Watch this space!
